Hospital debt report released |
An independent report revealing how a hospital trust got into £101 million debt has been released.
Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust commissioned senior NHS watchdog Michael Taylor to work out how the trust managed to become one of the most debt-ridden in the country, last December.
Yesterday the report was released online, after being completed in July.

Man trapped under van for days |
A pensioner is seriously ill in hospital after being trapped under his van for several days.
The man, who is believed to be 65 years old, was pulled out by firefighters at around 7pm yesterday (September 24) after a neighbour in Northlands Avenue, Orpington, called the emergency services.

A pensioner is fighting for his life after being hit by a motorbike.
The 74-year-old man from Mottingham was knocked down on Belmont Parade at 3.50pm last Saturday and taken to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup with head, neck and pelvic injuries.

The chairman of a high-security prison board whose personal details were sold for £1 by accident in a charity shop said he was 'extremely worried' at the data blunder.

Fun day for children's charity |
A charity welcomed the Orpington May Queen to its annual fun day, receiving a cheque from her for £500.
The Maypole Project, which supports children with complex medical needs, raised £1,000 from stalls and activities at its event.

Move towards independent living |
Residential accommodation for people with learning disabilities will be phased out by 2010.
Bromley is one of the few areas in the country that still has a large number of people with learning disabilities living in NHS residential care.

Possible alcohol ban for Orpington |
Police are recommending drinking alcohol in public places be banned from Orpington town centre due to anti-social behaviour.
